GETTING THERE

(The Long way Round)

From Nottinghamshire to Lochcarron the Western Isles, and both the Inner and Outer Hebrides including Arran, Islay, Harris, Lewis, Skye, Mull and Bute.

NC500 STARTING POINT

(From Lochcarron)

Starting from Lochcarron our initial planned route was to take the trip clockwise travelling up Bealach na Ba (Applecross Pass). We were persuaded over a couple of excellent and rare Highland Malts at the Lochcarron Hotel to change our plans and go anti-clockwise. A suggestion we later found to be an excellent choice for a number of reasons explained Later.

THE RETURN HOME

(Again yet another Long way Round)

From Inverness, Visiting Culloden, Aviemore, Pitlochry, Perth Falkirk (Including The Kelpies), Edinburgh, Wanlockhead, Dumfries and Gretna Green. Gretna Green being where Shirley and I married not long after this epic journey. We married at the Anvil Hall on September 3rd 2022.
